Free Pattern Friday—Bulky Reversible Cable Braid Scarf

There’s a new free pattern on KnitMonster, the bulky reversible cable braid scarf.

If anyone is actually using and enjoying these patterns, I’d love to hear about it. I’m also interested in cross-linking to other knitting blogs. If that interests you, post a comment!

The width of the scarf seems off to me–much more like 10″ wide or even a little wide if you are knitting with bulky yarn and on 10.5 US needles.

I like that scarf is reversible and is w/bulky yarn for a fast Christmas project. Well written pattern! Good photos too.

Dorothy, no kidding about the width, I even got a different tape measure because I couldn’t believe it was only measuring at 7 1/2 inches. It’s all the ribbing and the cabling, that pulls it in a whole lot. So when I say this thing is thick, I mean it’s THICK! Not a summer scarf, to be sure.

Day_forex, I’m so glad you said that, makes me feel like I’m on the right track! I’m trying to build the kind of site I’d like to visit, which means free content. I’m not sure about the ads now, they’re supposed to put up ads related to the content. I was imagining it as a resource, like the kind of ads you see on Knitty, but they’re more hit-or-miss than that so far. I’m definitely not making much money from them, we’re talking change here, so maybe I should rethink those. But that’s how it goes, keep trying stuff to see what works!

  2. Very great site.
The information here is genuinely useful.

I will give it to my friends.

    Cheers
